The history of ChemCar in our group started in 2013. The first vehicle designed utilised a reaction of 30% hydrogen peroxide with potassium permanganate. As a result of this reaction, large amounts of gas are generated – steam and oxygen. These gases, under pressure, are passed on directly to the turbine which powers the vehicle.
During the competition our team took 4th place and the received the highest marks for innovation and presentation. It should be emphasised that the jury included representatives of leaders from the chemical industry, such as BASF and Evonik.
